13 April is the start of the Thai New Year, otherwise known as Songkran.
For the third straight year, the “modern” Songkran activities of Water-Splashing and Face-Smearing are banned throughout the country due to COVID-19 restrictions. “Traditional” activities such as going to Buddhist temples and gently sprinkling water on the statues is permitted.
Despite this, I have decided to take a brief holiday and will spend at least a couple of days at one of the beautiful beaches along the west coast of Phuket island.
I will return extremely SUNBURNT (boy, am I WHITE now!!!) but ready to get back to work on Philatelic Pursuits. I am ALMOST ready with the February complete listings of stamps and March is not far behind (as is April).
Cheers!
And Happy Thai New Year.
