The 75th Anniversary of the United Nations
In June 1945, after World War II, 50 states met in San Francisco to found the United Nations. Today, 193 states around the world are members of the United Nations and are trying to defuse conflicts around the world peacefully and through multilateral exchanges, find solutions together and promote human rights.
Luxembourg is a founding member of the United Nations and has held responsibilities at the highest level on several occasions over the years.
The stamp motif shows the sculpture “Non-Violence” by Swedish artist Carl Fredrik Reutersw-rd, a gift from Luxembourg to the United Nations.
