One hundred years after her death on April 12, 1920, the Vatican philately wants to celebrate this solemn anniversary of Santa Teresa of the Andes, to the century Juana Fernandez Solar, born on July 13, 1900 in Santiago, Chile. It is the first flower of holiness of the Chilean church and Carmel Teresian in Latin America. She entered the barefoot Carmelite Monastery of Los Andes on May 7, 1919. The support of her life was the Lord Jesus, as he wrote in his journal on July 13, 1915: “Jesus feeds me daily with his adorable flesh and, along with this food, I listen to a voice as sweet and suave as the harmonious echoes of the angels of heaven.” Canonized by John Paul II on March 21, 1993, she was chosen by Pope Francis as one of the intercessors saints for the 2013 WYD in Rio de Janeiro, as a model for the youth of the Church today and the rebirth of the Chilean church. The subject of the stamp, created by the artist Marco Ventura, reproduces the image chosen for the canonization of the saint.
