U.S.A. Flag Pre-Stamped Envelope

United States: U.S.A. Flag Pre-Stamped Envelope, Date To Be Announced. Image from Stamp New Now.

The design of this pre-stamped Forever envelope was first announced on 20 November 2018 for release in “early 2020”. On 30 October 2019, a USPS spokesman revealed that the envelope had been postponed due to “existing inventory.”  On 3 April 2020, the Postal Service confirmed a 2020 release but no date and location have yet been announced. On 9 May, the Postal Bulletin finally announced a date and location as well as published the technical specifications.

The envelopes will be released on Monday, 15 June 2020, in Liberty, Missouri (just outside of Kansas City) in three different sizes in regular and windowed versions for most versions as well as either with regular gummed flags or self-adhesive flaps. The only first-day postmark for this issue is the FIRST DAY OF ISSUE “killerbar.” No pictorial, no Digital Color Postmark.
