Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, which was founded 50 years ago, is the most rapidly developing research university in Israel. With 20,000 students and more than 4,000 faculty members at its three campuses – in Beer Sheva, Sde Boker and Eilat – the university is realizing the vision of David Ben-Gurion, first Prime Minister of the State of Israel, that the future of the country lies in the Negev Desert. The university leads excellence in research and in teaching and promotes scientific innovation, interdisciplinary research and science that affect daily life.
Ben-Gurion University of the Negev is committed to social and environmental involvement. More than one third of its students participate in unique social action programs that serve as an example for other institutions worldwide.
