From 24 July to 9 August 2020, all eyes will be on the 32nd Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan. To mark this quadrennial mega sports event, Hongkong Post is releasing an issue of four stamps featuring sports in which Hong Kong athletes have won medals before or are eligible to take part in the coming Olympics. Overlapping images in vivid colours add dynamic appeal to the stamps. This issue is scheduled for release on the opening day of the Tokyo Olympics.

This issue has been postponed to 23 July 2021:

The “Games of the XXXII Olympiad Tokyo 2020” Special Stamps were originally scheduled to be issued on the opening day of the Olympic Games on 24 July 2020. As affected by the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has decided that the Olympic Games will be postponed to 2021. The above Special Stamp issue will be postponed to 2021 to tie in with the organization of the Olympic Games. The exact release date of the Special Stamp will be announced later in the light of the ultimate decision of the IOC on when to organize the Olympic Games.
